Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend Limited Edition is the fourth installment in the incredible 2D fighting series, brought to you by Arc System. This sequel in the saga offers you the best in game play, story line, and graphics, amongst many other things. This XBOX360 version gives you what has previously only ever been available as downloadable content, including the characters Makoto Nanaya, Platinum The Trinity, Valkenhayn R Hellsing and Relius Clover; these new characters also therefore provide four new unique story lines available to play through. There are also new play modes such as Ultimate Mars and Abyss Mode now available, as well as additional trophies to achieve.
The BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend's Limited Edition includes:
- Twelve High Quality Prints - Offering a rare glimpse into the Arc design process. Printed on high-grade Hahnemuehle Torchon art card for an exceptional reproduction of the original artwork.
- Never-before seen concepts - Sketches and technical drawings from the BlazBlue archives will also be included and are exclusive to the European Limited Edition.
- Song Interlude Soundtrack - Featuring new music from BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend as well as two vocal arrangements - Childish Killer and Blue-Bloom composed by Daisuke Ishiwatari.
The game is set in the city of Kagutsuchi, a hierarchical city placed high up in the mountains due to the uninhabitable lower atmosphere of the world. This atmosphere is caused by a severely poisonous black mist called "seithr", the residue of the creature the Black Beast since its demise, whose only desire was to eradicate all of humanity. Six heroes taught mankind how to fuse magic and science, calling it Ars Magus, and how to use it to defeat the Black Beast. Since the creation of Ars Magus, the organisation Novis Orbis Librarium formed and took control of its management, creating an army of those who were skilled at wielding it and inducing a power rift between themselves and mankind. Placed in a state of repression, some joined forces and formed the Ikaruga Federation in order to rebel against the Novis Orbis Librarium and take back their independence. Another war of Ars Magus began, and the Federation were quickly defeated, reinstating the power that the NOL possessed. However, not more than a few years later, one man single handedly took down the entire NOL from the inside out. This man is Ragna, who now waits in Kagutsuchi for his one true enemy Terumi to return.
There are nineteen characters to choose from to play through story mode, each with their own personal story to be told, and with a range of multiple endings and gag reels per character. There are sixteen stages to play through, each one a part of the city Kagutsuchi that holds significance and relates to the story of the specific character you chose, allowing you to explore the city as you progress, along with the difficulty of your opponents increasing. Each character's battle style is completely unique to them, and they also have their own distinctive special attacks; two super moves, otherwise called "Distortion Drives", as well as one ultimate move known as an "Astral Finish". Alongside these, characters have their own personal weapons, ranging from guns, to dolls, and even to teleporting robots. Unique special abilities have also been given to each character, spanning from the ability to freeze your opponent to stealing their life force, and everything inbetween. Combining these special abilities with Drive attacks can create incredibly powerful combos, allowing you to unleash devastating attacks on your opponent.
The game takes the style of graphics you would find in anime, and uses them perfectly to create visually breathtaking and enthralling cut scenes, as well as blending 3D environments within the fight scenes and battles. These environments are interactive, and can be used to your advantage within battle, as well as elements of them reacting to your actions such as dust clouds appearing when you attack or jump. An extra feature with these visually incredible environments is that the width has been increased, allowing you to move outside of your opponent's range in order to evade their attacks, as well as longer ranged attacks being incorporated. As well as evasive manoeuvres, you can also instigate break falls, both of which allow you to escape your foe's attacks and possibly even allow you to retaliate.
There are nine different modes to play through, including the brand spanking new mode Unlimited Mars; each character has a super powered alternative with different moves and special abilities, and this mode challenges you to fight your way through these super characters. As you gain experience throughout the various battles and stages within the game, your level will increase. This experience is also similar to the in-game's currency P$, as it can be used to both unlock and purchase various content in the gallery, such as illustrations and movies in gallery mode. There is also an online multiplayer competitive mode, where you can play people all across the world, and even watch others fight as a spectator. This highly developed story line and the combination of the incredibly extensive features makes for one incredible production, offering everything you could ever want from a fighting game, and more. Great Fighting Game
This limited edition is the best edition of the series until now. You can play the story of the first game and you've got a few extras in the box. Another excellent work for Arc System, but I prefer Guilty Gear and its metal style.

"The Best Fighter Just Got Better!"
BlazBlue Continuum Shft was arguably one of the best fighting games on Xbox 360, it was a joy to play and marvelous to watch, graphically. This game is '2d', like the previous edition, but very very visually appealing. Added to this edition are 4 new characters, 3 of which were previously available as DLC! Gameplay and storyline verges very much on the INSANE, it is often very funny / crazy story-wise, and the way you chain combos in this game is frantic to the core. Definite must buy. and as a new customer to zavvi.com I can say that I am much impressed with the service and customer support!

Probably the best 360 fighter.
This is an excellent 2D fighter with a wide variety of game modes and awesome lag free online play. It also features a remastered version of the story mode from the original Blazblue game. The characters of Blazblue are all really unique and so learning how to use each one requires a lot of time. The contents of the Limited edition are nice but not quite as good as the limited editions of the previous instalment. This is one fighter definitely worth your time.

Blazblue CS Extend
Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend, does exactly what it says in the title, it extends the game with new game modes and a brand new character. This edition of the game allows you go back to the original story line from the original title, allowing you to pick up the story before you go on to the new story. With new modes such as abyss mode and unlimited mars this game will make you want to keep playing. If you are a fan of Blazblue this is a definitive game to pickup, and if you are new to the Blazblue series this is the best buy you could make, giving the complete package.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift 2 Extend - Limited Edition
For me, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift 2 Extend - Limited Edition is the biggest versus game around, with incredible graphics and sound. If you're a hardcore gamer, this is for you.

Perfect
BlazBlue is the best 2D fighting game market. It may sound overwhelming, but it is true. His intricate and complex fighting system, with dozens of combinations and styles, as well as its balanced character roster, make it unique in style and genre. Graphically devastating, almost hypnotic, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift is an ode to the two dimensions and games of one on one, making it worthy of our highest recognition. He has managed to remain unmoved and true to form and convictions, not carried away by the political continuity, let alone by the unwritten obligation to bring all fighting games in three dimensions. It is (or was) a challenge, but Arc System Works has done it again. If you liked Calamity Trigger, Continuum Shift is all that you gave, but perfected almost to the most exquisite refinement. And finally the Vita version is much better than the PS3 or Xbox 360 version, highly recommended for fans of the fight.

Great 2D fighter
If you are a fan of fighters, then you must of heard of Arc System works. The guys behind Guilty Gear and BlazBlue. BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend is basically a complete version of Continuum Shift that was released in 2010. This Version is finely tweaked and has 4 additional characters. The great thing about this game is that all the characters feel different and there is a wide variety to choose from. The story is good but it may be confusing to newcomers, however there is a catch up section if newcomers missed out. The new modes Abyss and Unlimited Mars are great fun. If you like anime you will like the art style of this game. However the online is where most of the fun is. With many of the games being lag-free. However this game is no button-masher, especially against people online, you will not survive using random buttons. Pick a character that you feel most comfortable withand stick with them, learn all of your favourite character's combos and attack pattern. There is a stylish mode which makes it easier to do combos, but limits many of the mechanics to win. If you have played the previous version this may feel more of the same but for the price it's worth it. For newcomers, this may be the game to start in as the previous editions were much harder to get into. My opinion is you should get this game as it is a lot of fun.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift 2 Extend - Limited Edition
BlazBlue Continuum Shift 2 Extend is the last instalment of the BlazBlue franchise, and is, in essence, the "reload" version of Continuum Shift 2. The limited edition includes 3 characters as downloadable content. These are Makoto Nanaya, Valkenhayn R. Helsing, Platinum the Trinity, and there is also a brand new character included, called Relius Clover. Each one of these characters has their own Story Mode, which I think is a nice touch. The game has re-balanced the character damage and preference of attacks, making online game play more challenging. There is also a new game mode thrown in, called the Abyss mode, in which you can enjoy a survival mode with a customization of your characters. The game allow you to import your save game from Continuum Shift, so if you have ended the Story mode, you only have to make the stories of the new characters to have it at 100% complete ratio. You have to disconnect from Xbox Live for this to work, but that's nothing major to worry about. The only other problems I noticed were that there are always problems reading the saved games from the HD drive, so a USB memory stick comes in handy for transferring anything over properly. Other than this, my only complaint is that it doesn't come with Spanish as a language choice. This didn't prove too much of a problem for me though. Overall, a brilliant game! I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I hope you do too. I highly recommend you buy it.
