To put it simply, I think the best thing about Dead Rising 2, is that it gives you a nice feeling freedom, to kill the zombies with whatever you want. I love it, and highly recommend it.

Rising the casual gamer ...

I bought the game a while ago and found it quite compelling at first. But after I had played for a while it got a bit boring actually. Sure it's great to slay down zombies in many different ways and you can create your own weapons to do so. But still the story could be a bit more exciting and dramatic. In short: A funny game to play for the zombie-fan and you'll hack and slay your way through the hordes for some time but I'm not sure if everyone will play it till the end.

One of the funniest + best games I ever played. Killing zombies has never been better than with a rocketlauncher homemade of a steelpipe and firecrackers. Always wanted a game were you can just sit back, relax and slaughter your way through a bunch of rotten undead? While solving the case of the real reasons behind the new zombie outbreak in Fortune City, Chuck Green explores the area, searching for survivors. Time is playing against you, so you need to hurry while dressing Chuck all sorts of questionable male and female outfits.

Zombie killing fun!!!

Killing zombies has never been more fun than in Dead Rising 2. The gameplay very similar to the first game but adds combo weapons which give your character more experience and kills the zombies in an awesome way. One of my favorite combo weapons would have to be the plate launcher, get a cement saw and plates and you have a weapon that cuts down every zombie in its path. One flaw with the game, like the first one is that there is no autosave so you if you die and haven't saved your game in a while you can only continue from your previous save. Other than that it's excellent!

Zombie Killing fun!

Dead rising back in 2006 blew everyones minds. So many people had wanted a game like this where they could just sit back and slay zombies with anything they could get there hands on. Dead Rising 2 is the newest installment in the franchise which allows fans to splatter some blood everywhere for another 72 hrs of fun. Story dead rising 2 is nearly identicle to dead rising 1 in every way. The controls are the same and even the PP system is back. However there are some key differences. For one the photo taking is gone, instead are weapon combinations. At worktables in the virtual city of las vega- i mean fortune city, you can combine two items with duck tape to creat and entirely new weapon. a motrocycle with chainsaws on the handlebars or a wheelchair with miniguns attached are just a couple of the hundreds of variations. This also gives you combo cards and PP and really makes you want to explore to find all the combinations. Another change is that there is 3 save slots instead of the one from dead rising. This allows more flexible use of playing and staying away from the dreading menu screen which plaugued dead rising 1, but it still is a problem as it works the same way as dead risings. A fewmore of just an outright save whenever option would have been better. The main hack and slash gameplay remains fun and can allow you hours of kiling spree fun. The game is bigger and contains more than its predecessor, more weapons doesnt necesserily mean more variety. Like the first, mmost weapons aren'tfun except for the obvious and alot of them feel the same and usually have only one attack type (along with being able to throw it) which is dissapointing but the combo weapons are good enough to resolve this. boss battles with psychopaths are as good as ever but the psychopaths are not as memorable as last years. They are a hell of a lot harder though. Each psychopath has unique fights where it can cause you to styare at the game over screen quite a few times before you get a strategy in place. Theres also some vehicle sections but the driving controls aren't the best, its hard to control and jerky, also it's all to hard to crash and then take ages to get back into the game. The game also offers a rather nice multiplayer where players can take part in a variety of minigame style modes. This was a nice addition but it just doesn't feel right, it's good to slice up foes with a friend but dead rising just feels like a single player game and not a competitive multiplayer game. Overall, the game is very similar to dead rising but it's additions are enough to make it a true sequel. Graphics This is the weakest part of dead rising 2, From afar the game looks quite nice but up close it is pretty average. Character models of zombies are nicely detailed but survivorsand environments aren't as pretty. Blockly textures and some bad animations hamper the looks. At a strech i would even say dead rising one looks better. Still the blood and gore looks good and the game isnt horrid, just flawed, and the game is very big so its undertsandable that it wouldn't be the best around, but a bit more effort wouldn't have hurt. The games best point is how many zombies the game can put onscreen and still retain a decent framerate. overall, the game may not look great but is passable and damn can it put alot of zombies onscreen. In conclusion, Dead rising 2 is a nice sequel and has enough improvements that it surpasses its predecessor, but the games let down by little flaws such as a save system which still isnt as good as it should be and graphics which aren't up to todays standards. If your looking for some fresh new ways to kill the living impaired then pick up this sequel, if you weren't a fan of the first, i'd give it a miss as theres nothing changed to bring newcommers.

DEAD CERT WINNER!

If you loved the first game, you're in for even more of a treat this time around, graphics and game physics have been made better. Characters are more helpful, excellent online gameshow event and co-op extra. Story is as good as the first and some scenes are laugh out loud funny, great for fans of zombie movies too! Cant believe it's been 4 years since the first one - worth the wait though! Grab a copy!

A Zombie Outbreak You Don't Want To Stay Clear Of.

If you have played Dead Rising and loved it, then you won't be disappointed with this sequel. Capcom's recently purchased developer, Blue Castle Games, has taken the core gameplay from its predecessor and in almost every way improved it. Fortune City is where the games location is set, a Vegas inspired environment where the protagonist 'Chuck Greene' is on a mission to save his infected daughter and clear his name. Once I completed Dead Rising 2 I found myself sitting through the game again and again, each time planning my next play through. The game has a lot of replay value with multiple endings, survivors to rescue, psychopaths to defeat, 50 customisable weapons, character progression (level 50 max) and a handful of unlocks. Fortune City in itself has lots of interactive mini games and pawnshops where you can buy weapons or keys to vehicles that are located all over the games environment. I never found myself bored with so much to do and the best part is that the whole gaming experience can be shared from start to finish in coop (2 player story online only). If the single player mode is not enough to satisfy you, you can take the zombie slaying online in the multiplayer mode 'TIR' (Terror is Reality) where you and 3 other online players compete for prize money. This prize money can then be use in the single player mode. With every game having its fair share of problems, Dead Rising 2 is no exception. The online coop can be frustrating at times with disconnection errors occurring at the most awkward of times. For example when the host saves the game progress, the other player has a high chance of getting kicked out of that game due to an error. This also occurs when inviting people into a game. I was told by friends while they were in the process of joining my game that an error has occurred. This error would then force me to have to reload the game back up and I would have to repeat this process multiple times before it decided to work. The game also suffers from noticeable framerate drops, long loading times and other smaller bugs such as zombies randomly shooting into the sky and the weapons HUD becoming invisible. Having said this, the majority of these problems can be patched up with an online update sometime in the future. Overall, Dead Rising 2 is in my opinion a well crafted and an awesomely addictive fun game. Like I mentioned previously towards the beginning of this review, if you liked the first instalment...you will like this. However I would find it hard recommend if you have never played the first game. The games story is based around 72 hours like in the first game (72 hours game time = 6 hours real life time from start to finish I think). This means there is a time limit which is ticking constantly throughout Dead Rising 2. This is something I find other players to dislike in games. On these grounds, I personally feel this game deserves a 4/5.
