Simple but entertaining
Ben10: Galactic Racing is a action oriented racing game aimed at children in the vain of Mario Kart and ModNationRacers. First the positives, the game plays great, the controls, while getting some time to get used to, work like a charm. Using your weapons, which you pick up during your race, drifting and the stunt you're able to perform are all working like you'd expect. There are 8 Grand Prixs, each consisting of 3 tracks with an extra track for the eight GP. Than there are also the obligatory time trials, some extra mini games and ad-hoc mulitplayer. Some parts of the game however disappoint, graphically the game is a let down. A bigger problem however is how cheap the AI very often is, you could be in first place for the majority of the race only to be attacked several times in a row and surpassed in the last corner. Occasionally this could be irritating. Concluding this is a nice game to play some races for some days, however, I don't think this game is something you'd play for hours on end. For small trips to school or work however you could do worse than this game, and for you trophy hunters out there, yes there are trophies and yes, a platinum trophy is achievable.

Better than expected
I'm not a Ben 10 fan of any sort, I've never watched it. I know nothing about any characters or the universe at large. I basically bought this as I was running out of games that I haven't completed on the Vita. So after playing it for a short while I was very pleasantly surprised to find myself thoroughly enjoying myself! As a tie in game the characters could be literally anyone and it wouldn't matter. What you'll find here is a very competent kart racer that could stand up with Sega All Stars Racing or Mario Kart. The controls and power ups will feel very familiar to anyone who has played either of these and the level design is top notch. I would happily recomend this game to anyone who is or is not a fan of the series as this is a good, fun game and it's a joy to get that platinum trophy for any trophy hunters!
