Gravity Rush is the feverishly anticipated Japanese third person action game developed for the PlayStation Vita. This innovative game makes full use of the Vita's ingenious mechanics and core controls, with the OLED touch screen and the six-axis motion sensing system (three-axis gyroscopes and three-axis accelerometer). Enter a magical and extremely surreal world nothing like any you've seen before, from a perspective only Gravity Rush could offer you.
Take on the role of Gravity Rush's heroine Kat, a girl who wakes up in the mystical floating town of Hekseville, with no memory of who she is, where she is, or how she got there. After waking, a chance encounter with a mysterious cat by the name of Dusty occurs, and the feline gives Kat the power to control and manipulate gravity. Kat will, with your help, learn to master these powers and help to defend the city of Hekseville against the various Nevi monsters worming their way into town, and against the threat of a Gravity Storm approaching ever closer.
Using Kat's powers incorporates practically every control and function that the PS Vita can offer, beginning with the L and R trigger buttons to initiate the gravity shift, allowing Kat to lift off the ground and float there, awaiting your direction and command. In order to aim Kat, you can use the Vita's gyroscope and tilt the handheld console in whichever direction you desire to send her that way, aiming her to land on a wall, the underside of a ledge, the ground; anywhere. Floating and manoeuvring through the air are by far the least of what Kat's gravity powers are capable of doing, as she can also use devastating gravity-defying attacks, amongst many other things.
The storyline of Gravity Rush is advanced in comic book styled cutscenes, where conversations and events are mapped out in the format of a graphic novel, which can be flipped through with a swipe of the touch screen. There are storyline missions that advance the plot and culminate in epic boss fights, whilst there are also challenge missions and side quests which allow you to level up Kat and her abilities. An example of one such side mission would be utilising Kat's gravity slide (initiated by placing both thumbs on the touch screen) in a high-speed race through the town, using the Vita's gyroscope to manoeuvre your way around corners, etc. The further you progress throughout the game, and the more gems you collect and find throughout the city, then the more abilities Kat will learn; ranging from and including her gravity strike attack, the gravity glove which lifts objects, her throw attack, and more.
Gravity Rush is an incredibly unique and original game, in means of both storyline and movement system; the innovative concept of having the protagonist being able to reorient gravity, and falling through the sky to any surface which immediately becomes her new floor is ingenious. With beautiful, cel-shaded graphics and stunning environments, this game is not only entertaining but also visually stunning, incorporating manga elements in form of the cut scenes. On top of this, the combat is intuitive and fun, with Kat shifting through the air and delivering hefty air attacks to the various monsters and demons you encounter. Gravity Rush encapsulates everything any gamer would want for this handheld console, as it offers everything fun from a game (brilliant combat, beautiful visuals, textured and unique storyline), perfectly blended with the features and controls of the PlayStation Vita. Great!
This game is the reason that made me buy a PSVita: I thought it was a very original idea the one behind the gameplay (defying gravity, "flying" through the skies, on the roof and below a floating city), and I was right! The graphics and the musics are beautiful; the gameplay is quite solid. It sometimes can be frustrating to aim at the enemies, especially flying ones, but the difficulty is among easy/medium, never hard. I totally liked it, and I also bought the DLC!

Gravity Rush
Gravity Rush is one of the best games available for the PS Vita. It's definitely one step ahead of Uncharted Golden Abyss.

The reason you buy PSVita
Japan has its own special atmosphere and Gravity Rush is just what you love in Japanese game. Music, graphics, atmosphere, story, sweet girl, and a cat. What else do you need for happiness? The plot is shown in the stylised comic-boxes ... and it carries so much that you sometimes forget that you are playing the game and not reading a comic book. Playing with gravity adds it's uniqueness. If the second stick becomes uncomfortable, then do not worry - you can use a gyroscope. The game has no violence, blood, sexual elements (but there are cats and cute girls), so it is perfect not only for men but for women and young teens. This is a game that causes others to drool with envy
