The New Forest National Park was the hunting ground of Kings as far back as William the Conqueror and the best way to explore its plains and enclosures is still on horseback. Ride across the grasslands and heaths where the forest ponies roam free, and on into the woods, home to fox, badger and many herds of wild deer.

Time to don your riding hat and meet your instructors for a safety briefing before you head off for a 30 minute mounted lesson, settling you on your mount and getting you in control. With that sorted you'll ride out into the New Forest on a 90 min hack, over the heath, amongst the wild forest ponies and cattle, and on into the woodlands where you may be lucky and spot one of the many herds of wild deer.
- Minimum age: 12 years
- Minimum height: N/A
- Maximum height: N/A
- Maximum Weight: 15 stone
- Fitness/Health: The experience is unsuitable during pregnancy. It may also be unsuitable with some disabilities, so please check with the stables before booking. If you have any medical conditions which may affect your ability to carry out this experience you must discuss it when making your booking.
- This experience takes place on selected dates throughout the year. They are mainly at weekends, in the morning, afternoon and some evenings.
- The trail is not suitable for spectators.
- Dress Code: For riding you must wear full length trousers and sturdy shoes or boots with a heel of around 2 to 4cm. You must also have your shoulders covered.
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary.
