Fun and strategic play and pass desk game with replayability. It's Wonder-ful!

We played this game with family and friends and it was great fun! It is suitable for grown ups and older children (the box suggests age 10+ but if your kids enjoy puzzles and/or games, I think 7+ is suitable). It’s a strategic resource deck game, where you play and pass your hand. As such, there are a variety of play styles. The rules may seem complicated initially but it’s quite straight forward after one game. There are many ways to score and the balanced scoring always makes this a close game. Each game take around 30-40 minutes to play. The only negative is the size of the box. It is a lot larger than it needs to be. As such, it is not travel sized. Others have said in other reviews that their Age I deck is missing. This is not the case. The cards are wrapped in two packs; one pack contains cards from Ages I and II, and the other contains cards from the Ages II and III. As such, the top of the wrapped decks show Age II and Age III, which makes it look like Age I is missing. Disclaimer: I received this product for free to play and review, but this is an honest review. I do not receive any benefit for giving a good review.

Strategic Wonder

I received this product for free but this is an honest review. At first I was terrified by the instructions, they are quite complicated, but we watched a few tutorials and played a few open hands to learn the rules and scoring system. There are scoring apps which made it easier. We enjoyed the game as a family our 7 year old managed to learn how to play it. There are lots of different routes to success so each time is a different game, still not too sure how to build a wonder but we had fun playing it without doing that.

Takes a bit to work it out

So first off, this game looks a little bit intimidating and scary to get started. The box is amazing, and the pieces look great but also a little worried to get started. So we worked together with YouTube videos to see exactly what we needed to do, which pieces we needed and didn’t we all understand how to play Once you get confident, it's a great game. Definitely for older, not for kids-my daughter did try but couldn’t get to grips with it Once you understand how to play, it's all about strategy and playing your best hand. We found this a great game as you honestly can't go wrong. It's 3 players plus to start, so a great excuse to grab a friend or two round for a get-together. I love how it's different from other games and not an easy, boring game. Loved building empires and having a bit of a complex game to get into. Even if it took us a few goes to get our heads around lol! This will be well-loved and a great excuse for a catch-up with friends. Give yourself a good couple of hours when first starting to play to work it out

Loved the game!

I received the game for free (lucky, I know) and this is an honest review. As the review title says, I loved this game. Winning might have a big role to play in my adoration but the husband and inthis case the losing party also loved it. The friend we played it with eventually ended up buying one for herself. And did I say we were all new to the game, though decent boardgame players. I found the game engaging and really easy to pick up. I advise watching a gameplay before you o head first if you need to know everything before you start. Otherwise, by the end of the first age, you'll know very well which cards you should select. I'm quite excited to play this when we can with my nephews, both teenagers and avid video game players.

Excellent Board Game

I received this game free this is a honest review. When I first received this game I thought it would be difficult to play, so I decided to watch an online video and it really was easier then expected. I played with 3 players I do feel this game is geared up towards more players, the more players the better the game. It is visually stunning and geared up to those suffering with colour blindness. It took us around 40 minutes to play one game. It does make you think and is quite strategic everything I love about a game. Certainly worth purchasing.

A game of fun, strategy and gets better the more you play.

So first off, this game looks a little bit intimidating and scary to get started. Box is amazing, pieces look great but also a little worried to get started. So we worked together to see exactly what we needed to do, which pieces we needed and did we all understand how to play and what we can do. There are also fab clips on YouTube which are a great help! Once you get confident, it's a great game. Definitely for older, not for kids. Once you understand how to play, it's all about strategy and playing your best hand. Steep Learning Curve

The game itself is exceptionally well-made and the images sparked conversation. I've never played a drafting game so it was hard to understand the rules and I felt it was overly complicated until my strategy-loving 11yr old took over. His first response to the game was "This is LIT!" We tried it as a family and after an hour, still hadn't completed all the ages. I had a group of 11-12 yr olds play and they too struggled to finish in 30 mins. I can imagine this will be fun and fast once you understand the rules. *We got this game to trial for free. This is an honest review of our experience.*

Strategy game

A great game for family and friends. A strategy game where you build civilizations from the Antiquities. Hence the name 7 Wonders. My teenage children played it and picked up the rules very quickly.

Perfect Addition to Games Night!

Received in exchange for honest review. We loved it! 7wonders is a game of strategy, played through "3 ages" (with 3 decks of cards), with the aim of becoming the greatest city by developing the city's military, science, culture and the economy as a whole. There are a lot of rules but they are clear and concise. There are many online videos offering tutorials, if you wish to see it played prior to playing. With a teen, who enjoys other strategy games, this was a hit. The game is recommended at 10+, which would work if the child has played similar games otherwise I would recommend to an older age group. It states 30 minute game play, it took us slightly longer but we were stopping to double check rules and clarify the symbols on cards. Overall: Would we recommend? Definitely. Perfect for friend groups or families looking for a more "grown up" game. There are further extensions to the game which we will definitely look into once we have all fully grasped this edition.

Good family game

I received the product for free, but this is an honest review. Overall, my impression of the game is positive, but with one caveat. First, let me say that my family and I enjoyed playing 7 Wonders. The game is easy to learn and quick to play, which makes it perfect for family game nights or for groups of friends. The theme of building a civilization and constructing Wonders of the World is engaging and immersive, and the game mechanics are cleverly designed to keep players engaged throughout the game. However, the one downside we found was the minimal interaction between players. While the game allows for some degree of strategic play and decision-making, there isn't a lot of opportunity for direct interaction between players. This can be a bit of a disappointment for a family game, where the social aspect of playing together is often as important as the game itself. That being said, we still enjoyed playing 7 Wonders and would recommend it to others who are looking for a quick and engaging game with a unique theme. The game's strengths in terms of easy gameplay and clever mechanics outweigh its minor drawback of minimal player interaction.
