The complete works of French auteur Jean Vigo are now available on 4K UHD for the first time, on the 120th anniversary of his birth. This collection features Vigo's entire filmography - L'Atalante, Zéro de conduite, Taris, and À Propos de Nice - presented from a 4K restoration completed by Gaumont, La Cinematheque Francaise, and Martin Scorsese’s The Film Foundation. This set also includes hours of special features, with alternate versions of the films, documentaries, short films, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and interviews. Vigo, the son of a notorious anarchist, spent most of his early life either on the run or in bad health. Despite these challenges, Vigo created spellbinding cinematic works of poetic realism, culminating in his only feature-length film, L'Atalante. Tragically, just weeks after the release of L'Atalante in 1934, Vigo died of tuberculosis, aged 29. His legacy has been firmly cemented in film history however; not just by the archivists and technicians who have preserved and restored his films, but also by the filmmakers who count Vigo as an inspiration: from the directors of the French New Wave and on to modern masters like Michel Gondry and Luca Guadagnino. Experience the magic for yourself today. "Few artists in the history of cinema have won reputations so high by achievements so modest. If, that is, works of genius can be described as modest." - Lindsay Anderson "The first time I saw L'Atalante, after one hour, I knelt in front of the screen and I remained in that position till the end." - Bernardo Bertolucci
