Fantastic 4k Transfer
5The best this film has ever looked on physical media! Fantastic picture, punchy sound! Digital noise reduction has been improved on this release and the result is a great transfer. Very pleased I purchased it.

5The 80’s classic given a revamp with 2020 viewing technology, what’s not to like as Dutch and his motley crew are hunted down one by one. Great 4k transfer delivered in double quick time with no issues, yes please😀

5Grain haters please dont buy it. But if you like HDR, better colours and extras, dont miss it. A classic movie at its best!

5The HD Quality is noticeable as is the sounds, not sure if this because I finally let go of my 8yr old 3D TV or because the ultra HD is a vast improvement on my regular Blu Ray copy. Either way I purchased this on an offer and it was well worth it, the blood, the sweat, the action.

4The 3 Star review on this page is wrong. This has been remastered in 4K and looks much better than the disastrous "Ultimate Edition" Blu-ray and moderately better than the competent original Blu-ray. Compared to the original there is a noticeable uptick in detail (although it's limited by the grainy source) and a lack of noticeable compression artifacts thanks to a higher resolution, bit-rate, and an improved compression method. Additionally the range of colour has been improved and there are better specular highlights thanks to HDR-10. This is as good as the film will ever look and is a worthy upgrade to both previous versions. The only disappointment is the lack of a new Dolby Atmos or DTS:X surround track.

3Good news and bad news. Looks like Fox have gone back to their original blu ray source rather than the most recent DNR release that had waxy images. So grain is still intact but this 4K release looks no better than blu ray so has not been remastered. Don't expect an upgrade in sound as still has the DTS 5.1 soundtrack carried over from previous discs so no Atmos or DTS X. You decide on whether this is a decent upgrade. I still feel the 3D version is the way to go.
