Awesome Edition of Awesome Film

Recieved this on release day and it does not disappoint. The art inside the steelbook, and the steelbook itself are of the highest quality. This is truly a great piece of collectible merchandise that any Marvel fan would wish to own. Watched it twice in the first weekend too!! Needless to say the film is epic, action packed, fun, hilarious at times, and paves the way for more great Marvel films!! Can't wait!

I am a huge fan of the Marvel movies, finding them highly entertaining popcorn movies. With a few missteps along the way (Iron Man 2, I am looking at you in particular), I was confident that with Joss Whedon at the helm again, Avengers 2 would be more of the same; highly entertaining but with heart.. Unfortunately, it has turned out to be a bit of a mess of a film, trying too hard to crowbar too much into its running time, and leaving me feeling a little empty. There are some great moments, and the effects and cast do their job well, particularly a surprising turn from Jeremy Renner who is one of the best things in this movie. If only there was had been focus on character development along the lines of Hawkeye's role, the movie may have been a more rounded, enjoyable feature. Sadly, it is a convoluted mess. It feels as if Whedon had his hands tied, and was forced to shove in a reference to "x" and "y" along the way at the expense of the plot. (Minor spoiler alert): Thor's sudden wander off to take a dip in some kind of trippy pool of visions midway through the film being a prime example (Minor spoiler ends) I won't give too much away but this film left me feeling a little cold, and was nowhere near as fun as the Captain America films, Iron Man 1 & 2, Thor, or the excellent Guardians of the Galaxy. There are times when it feels like they are just chucking so much action on the screen at once because they can, rather than because it is a good idea to do so. "More" does not mean "better", especially in this case. Probably the worst Marvel film since Iron Man 2. entertaining on some level, but don't expect Joss Whedon's usual level of quality. It is a surprisingly emotionless film overall - the few places where it tries to "do" emotion work so well that it leaves the rest of the film feeling a little sterile. That said, I look forward to receiving the 3D steelbook for my collection, and am intrigued as to whether it will improve with repeated viewings over time within the context of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it expands.

I want to keep this short and sweet Just saw it on release day and could not have been happier Don't worry about a critics trying to be well critical.. It's a movie and designed to entertain ...and that's what this movie does in a super sized sack full... There is a story there are emotional points if you want to see them it is funny and it is loud No spoilers just enjoy!!!
