127 Hours is a very good film, a pity it didn't get the Oscar. It's one that should be viewed more than once.

This certainly has the OPPs factor it shows us all we are not invincible & that we all need to trust others with small privacies when we are heading into the unknown as destination & expected time of arrival home. It also shows us how strong our will to live is which revolves around our family , friends & general life memories of our growth.

Touching

This movie is a real thinker. Once you have finished watching this movie you will appreciate the things you have. Yes, it's one of those sentimental movies, but a really good one at that. Watching this true story of a man who almost lost his life and the sacrifices he makes to survive you will be definitely touched. A great film, 5 stars!

A brilliant film but not for the faint hearted. The film is about a man who while exploring gets his arm trapped under a rock, he is stranded with no food and water and his only chance of escaping is to cut off his own arm. But its never that easy, his only knife is small and pretty blunt. I found myself unable to watch while he cuts it off but the sound effects are enough to give you a horrible idea of what he is doing and going through. Definitely worth watching.

James Francos casting in the role is a wonder. As versatile as the films director, Franco has the intelligence and charisma to pull off his prolonged amount of screen time, and draws out the arrogance of Ralston as well as the spirit of adventure that compels him to live life on the edge. Combining the stark reality of his situation with moments of magic realism that amount to hallucinations, daydreams and flashbacks as Ralston is forced to ponder his existence in the face of certain death, we are sharply yanked out of the films carefully constructed tension and immersed instead in Ralstons mind; the psyche of a person who is having to accept a horrific fate. In this way, Boyle is able to provide answers to the audiences pertinent questions what would it be like in such a terrible situation? What would be going through your head? As well as what actually happens and how a person might handle it, Boyle effectively delves into the psychology of the situation. Through this technique, Boyle allows us all to identify with Ralston and conveys the idea that in the same circumstances, the human spirit alive in all of us would compel each and every one of us to do the same

I think the main thing that makes this film a good watch is that it is based on a true story. You do feel like the story is real when you are watching. I was interested throughout the whole film. Although it is a film I would probably only watch once.

Brilliant, I loved this film. James Franco was excellent playing Aron Ralston, the man who became trapped by a rock while exploring a canyon in Utah. Given that it's about a bloke who's trapped, alone, for 127 hours it is extremely entertaining. There are several wince moments where he tries to release himself though. Given that this is a true story it does make you appreciate how just how much we, as people, can cope with when there is a need to survive. Hats off to Aron Ralston and hats of to James Franco for his portrayal.

Shockling thiller!

This was not my usual type of film to go and see as I prefer my traditional horrors but the fact this was based on a true story made me want to watch it. Although obviously after a while the scene remains in the same place for a long time it really is done well and you don't get bored with the shot due to the wonderful acting and atmosphere created by the producers. The things this man had to go through and the way the main actor portrays this are chilling - definitely worth a watch.
