This set is well worth buying for all those who have an interest in morality tales for adults with a macabre twist. I also like the period feel and the added interest of spotting actors who went on to (sometimes) greater things. Well worth the money for this set which provides many hours of entertainment.
If you love short stories full of twists and suspense then I highly recommend this addictive series. The downfall of this series is that some of the episodes have predicable endings- but don’t be put off buying the series because of this; despite the fact that the endings can be predicted a lot of the time the stories are still very entertaining and there are some classic episodes in this series such as The Flypaper, The Way up to Heaven, The Boy Who Talked with Animals, The Sound Machine, The Hitch-hiker, Skin, Never Speak Ill of the Dead and many, many others... My favourite episodes are the ones based on Roald Dahl short stories and 26 episodes are based on short stories by him.
I REMEMBER THESE WHEN THEY WERE SCREENED ON TELEVISION SEVERAL YEARS AGO. STILL GOOD TV FROM THE MASTER ROALD DAHL.
Great Collection at a great price . I enjoyed watching these again which brought back memories of seeing them as a child . I would recommend
I bought this set because I remember watching the series regularly as a young man in the eighties. I have 2 kids (girl 8 & boy 11years) who have also enjoyed watching it with me this time. We haven't managed to watch all 112 episodes yet, but those we have seen have all lived up to their promise. It is almost impossible to second guess the endings.
