Black Panther Clothing

Don the traditional garb of Wakanda with Zavvi UK's Black Panther clothing, which features prints capturing the vistas of the nation, character-inspired imagery, and striking logos. If you’re a fan of T’Challa and his entourage, our line-up of products — including T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies — will allow you to show your allegiance to the king.

The Rise Of A King

A character who made his debut on the pages of Fantastic Four #52 (1966), T’Challa / Black Panther is a hero in Marvel Comics. Acting as the crowned king of Wakanda (a fictional country in Africa), he defends his people and the Earth in its entirety from all manner of threats, the likes of which could be the ruler of an opposing nation or a planet-eating being from outer space. Traditionally, he gains his physical enhancements — superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, and so on — by consuming a heart-shaped herb, and he is also benefited by years of training, both mental and physical, coupled with advanced Wakandan technology.

Beyond the comics, T’Challa has appeared in live-action film, joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for Captain America: Civil War (2016), wherein he was played by actor Chadwick Boseman. He quickly becomes involved in the on-going dispute between Tony Stark / Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Steve Rogers / Captain America (Chris Evans) because of the latter’s involvement with Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), who he believes planted the bomb that killed his father, T'Chaka (John Kani). Ultimately, this proves to be untrue, Bucky having been framed by Helmut Zemo (Daniel Brühl), so T’Challa abandons his quest for revenge and returns home, where he is to assume the mantle of king.

This plot thread is continued in the character’s follow-up solo film, which was released in 2018. To claim his rightful position as the leader of Wakanda, T’Challa must defeat any eligible challengers in ritual combat, and it is this event that gives his cousin, Erik Stevens / Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), the means to appropriate the title for his own devices.
