Red Dead Redemption Game Of The Year Edition
5I only got this game recently and boy am i regretting not getting it before... Fantastic story, fantastic controls, great music, absolutely breathtaking scenery with gorgeous weather effects, incredible wild life behaviour and random events that actually feel random. Rockstar does not disappoint in what is probably the best Wild West game ever made. Of course being the GOTY edition, you have everything in a single, lower-priced disc, so what are you waiting for?

The Return Of John Marston In Red Dead Redemption Game Of The Year Edition
5Revisiting games does not always work well but returning to Red Dead Redemption Game Of The Year Edition is a pleasure (This edition contains all of the downloadable content released), little did we know how good this game was when it was launched in May 2010. Some have dismissed it as GTA clone which is very unfair, yes it shares similar controls but that could be used against many games. The game starts with John Marston being escorted out of Blackwater by the law onto a train arriving in Armadillo, here the game begins and you can choose to follow main or side missions or simply explore the wild west. Rockstar have created one of the most impressive open worlds to roam in, with night & day cycles and the ever changing weather is totally convincing. Whether you are on cold snow capped mountain or the dry white sands of Nuevo Paraiso (Mexico), the graphics are among the best around. The inhabitants are also excellent with the detailed clothing and faces. Controls & movement are near identical to GTA and travelling to destinations by horse can be fun although thankfully there is the option to travel by train, stagecoach or quicker still by fast travel (via creating a camp-site which can also be used as a savepoint). You can just go through the main missions or do side missions, both have a mix of interesting & humorous storylines that rarely feel like A to B jaunts. Marston can acquire a variety of outfits some are purely cosmetic and others enable extra abilities like being able to cheat at Poker. There are also various items which can be found, stolen, bought or sold in the game like horses, maps and of course weaponry. You can login at socialclub.rockstargames.com for information about social club challenges or see a breakdown of statistics you have achieved in the game. Some elements of the gameplay can be changed in the options, some may prefer the easier settings to gun someone down while others will enjoy more freedom with the harder settings. The voice acting in RDR is possibly the best of any game, whether Marston is talking regretfully about the past or delivering laugh out loud one liners it feels like you are part of things. The soundtrack is balanced perfectly whether you are quiet isolated spot or taking part in an action packed moment. Also included on the disc of the Game Of The Year Edition is Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare which is a fun single player storyline which has John Marston search for a cure for a Zombie plague which is sweeping across the US & Mexico, this is best played after completing the main storyline as it will reintroduce characters you have already met. Rockstar have created a believable world with believable characters and in John Marston an iconic lead. Whether offline or online the game has much to offer, the single player has wonderfully flowing storyline that’s lasts just about the right length of time and online has enough variety to keep you interested for a long time. Red Dead Redemption is Rockstar's finest game.

You laughing at my horse stranger?
5Awesome game. Great graphics. Easy to play. A massive sandbox world to explore with loads of different options available. My only criticism is that for the non full on gamer, for the gamer that only gets the occasional chance to play, this is perhaps too big a game. You cant just pick it up and play it for ten minutes. To get the most out of Red Dead you would have to immerse yourself in the game, build up your character, unlock a lot of the content etc. Other than that this is a serious must play for any PS3 owner. A very good game (one that actually entertains when you are sitting watching someone else play it as well as when you are actually playing because the graphics are so good then watching the game is seriously like watching a movie). I have received the game very fast and for the best price possible thanks to sendit and I will be using sendit more in future.
