5Tomb Raider is a reboot of the adventures of Lara Croft is an action-adventure. It's incredibly nice, offering a long-lived campaign, addictive gameplay. Overall, a well calculated and very solid game.

You're the Survivor
5Tomb Raider's Lara Croft returns on our console with Tomb Raider: Survivor Edition. a prequel to all the adventures of the series. We find Lara at her early stages, after graduating from college. She takes off for her first adventure, but with no awareness of the incoming dangers. With her crew, Lara finds herself on a mysterious island, trying to call for help. She will soon discover that it is no normal island. The game play perfectly matches the continuous struggle for life, but with raw weapons, raw combat moves and an upgrade system that will make the player as experienced as he continue the adventure. Visually, it is amazing: the island is greatly detailed and fully pulsing with animals, trees and rivers.

Strong Reboot
4Square Enix give us a very good vision of Lara Croft. She lives a true nightmare on this island and in my opinion, she screams too much... But it shows us how to become a real survivor! However the AI....hmpf. What a deception!! Such as the good old games, all the enemies know where you are when one of them saw you even if you change your position. Anyway Tomb Raider is not a excellent reboot but a good reboot.

5Lara Croft is back, with the biggest adventure, non-stop action game yet. I've never been such a huge fan of the series since the 90's when it first came out, but since I saw the first trailer of the game (turning point) I've kept on monitoring the development of the game until I bought a copy of the Tomb Raider: Survivor Edition for my PS3 console. I've got to say, I was amazed of how deep this game was going to take you into it. You'll be able to feel the atmosphere and the island's environment from the start menu screen. Once you start your game you're in a non-stop amazing cinematic action game that never stops. Lara is human and you can really become attached to the character and what she is going through, with the game's very emotional scenes and fine-tuned gameplay. There are not that much puzzles or riddles along the way, but I don't think that's the direction the developers meant to to take Lara in and if I may say that's a smart decision. Once there is a puzzle it's not that difficult, which is great because you'll want to play on and not get stuck while continuing with the non-stop action, and personally I like this direction of the franchise. I've got to say a word about the audio in this game. I'm playing it on my surround audio system, and wow, it's really amazing. Once you play it, then you'll understand what I'm talking about. The guys at Square Enix have done it big time. The characters are awesome, Lara is so human you can really feel her, the non-stop cinematic action gameplay will make you enjoy this huge, huge game for hours. I really recommend this one- if are a part of gamer that loves a pure entertaining adventure, 3rd person action, then you've got to have it on your shelf.

Tomb Raider
3I bought Tomb Raider: Survivor Edition since it seemed to have a lot of development time, and the sound/music seemed to have a lot of the focus in the game. It's obvious a lot of time has been put in the game when playing it, even if there are a few illogical design choices. I give the game 3 stars just because it's a bit too linear, and while the game surely wants to tell a story, I played the game on hard mode and sometimes the immersion in the story was lost due to the combat. The sound is good and really shows that they have worked with the environment in the game to enhance the experience. The only thing missing is a bit more music.

4Tomb Raider is a great game. It is an origin story that doesn't feel forced. It's a brilliant story of how a young 18-19 old girl turns (starts to) into one of our most beloved female heros. It's great knowing what she will turn into some day, and being a part of that journey. There are lots of references and hints at the old games, but the game holds out on its own with ease. There is a realistic approach to this new game, though covering up an underlying mythological base, which Lara Croft is known for. It would have been nice to see more puzzles etc in the game, as there are a couple, but they are not very hard to solve. The gameplay has taken a Uncharted approach, with lots of varying speed of play and cinematic styled sequences. Graphics are great and the soundtrack is beautiful. Very good game, and a must buy for fans of the character.
