Familiar yet fresh

A darker film compared to its 2 prequels, which gives Tony Stark's character a much more personalised style and some depth of development we haven't seen before. Still manages to retain the trademark wit and humour. The finale is bombastic, if ridiculous. Still completely enjoyable.

Better with every Rewatch

I wasn't blown away when I first saw IM3 in the cinema, I think Avengers Assembled may have spoiled me somewhat lol but I watched it again with a friend and was absolutely transfixed lol had to nab myself a copy asap :) still not as good as IM1 (but then, what is? lol) but still a fantastic watch, RDJ is mesmerising as per usual and although it's a slightly different style I'd definitely recommend it.

Iron Man 3

A number in the title is usually not a guarantee that a movie will be very original, surprising or even of reasonable quality. So when the third installment in the 'Iron Man' series was announced, nothingt particularly suggested that it would be a worthy successor to the all-out spectacle that was 'The Avengers'. However, fresh blood in the person of Shane Black, the king of oneliner-filled buddy movies since 'The Last Boyscout' and 'The Long Kiss Goodnight', makes this threequel feel surprisingly fresh and smooth. Robert Downey Jr and Black teamed up years before for the very pleasant and wacky detective parody, 'Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang', and Black has again delivered a screenplay that seems tailor-made for Downey's humor and improvisational talent. He skillfully balances Tony Stark's fears and doubts over his recent survival and relationship with Pepper Potts with the emergence of a new super villain who has some tricks up his sleeve. Stark gets teamed up with several allies that allow Black to make the ultimate buddy superhero movie, and there is also plenty of room for devastating action scenes, such as the hectic climax. Perfect summer entertainment (even though it takes place during Christmas, another Shane Black trademark). Highly recommended!

Awesome

Impressive from the start the MK42 suit is just genius... I thought the briefcase would have been hard to top but have been proved totally wrong. The bad guys are cool too (or should that be HOT) Kingsley and Pierce were well cast bad guys. Bring on Avengers 2, Thor 2 and Captain America 2. Can't wait Marvel

good not amazing

Iron Man 3 is an enjoyable film, not as good as the first two though and can be very disappointing if you have just watched Avengers! However, it is wrapping up the storyline of the Iron Man franchise which is does really well, but it is just not as action packed as some of the other films. It's definitely worth a watch if you're a Marvel fan!
