Mediocre movie GREAT musical

Review of the product: The 3D disc's menu is a garbled mess of errors produced by someone who doesn't understand 3D (or didn't have a 3D monitor available?). It's eye-crossingly uncomfortable. Bizarrely, there's an overlong and awful animation with Timon and Pumba about 3D, clearly meant to be seen in 3D... that is only on the 2D disc! So this movie had some very troubled production issues, maybe the worst I've ever seen. But, The 3D movie itself is fine! So none of it really matters it's just _very_ weird. I thought the 3D hair would stand out, along with the lantern lake scene, but neither did especially. However the various acrobatics scenes, and the thugs at the Snuggly Duckling inn, benefited more than I expected. Overall it's well worth seeing in 3D. For a formulaic movie which occasionally shines in implementation, a director's commentary would have been very interesting, unfortunately there is none. Review of the content: This is a very formulaic production with not much going for it, except, occasional *very* entertaining writing! And in particular the two main musical numbers (When Will My Life Begin and Mother Knows Best) really elevate what should be yet-another-Disney-princess movie to something that sticks with you and has you humming the tunes for the next few days. I was left with the very odd feeling that I liked the movie more _after_ having seen it, than I did while I was seeing it. The highlights (esp. a sword fight between a horse and a man holding a frypan) stick with you, while the poorly-done and unconvincing romance subplot fades away. This is a movie you will really enjoy as long as you go in with medium or low expectations. And if you haven't seen it at all, there are some very entertaining highlights in there, it is worth seeing, I definitely recommend it.

Another Disney gem!

Great for kids and adults alike. As usual, Disney have outdone themselves on both animation and story. The 3D really adds to the experience, and there's plenty of special features to delve into as well. Recommended purchase!

Excellent but 3d terrible

The 3d has some serious ghosting. I have successfully watched a whole variety of 3d films but this one and monsters university are too bad to watch. The film is good using the 2d disc and my 14 year old daughter loves it. Buy but save on the 3d price and get the 2d version

Tangled 3D

I already owned this as a 2D Blu-ray but as I had upgraded my home cinema I re-purchased the full 3D Version as this is one of those great feel-good films. I watched via a Benq 1070 with dimensional optics and 3D glasses. The picture quality is just astounding and the film itself is the best kind of 3D... with plenty of depth without the gimmick of things being poked out of the screen to emphasise that it is in 3D. Colour reproduction is very well handled although you will loose a small amount of brightness due to the 3D glasses greyish tint. All-in-all is a superb effort that shows Disney can still deliver the goods!
