A beautiful release
5This steelbook is superb. The artwork on the front is the standard for any current edition of this film. But it has beautiful embossed writing for the logo. The back has an original piece of artwork with Bernard and Bianca finding the Devil's Eye diamond with Penny. While Madame Medusa is over seeing them digging up the diamond from the ground (in the film it was hidden in a skull, but this is still a nice image, that invokes a little less fear and delivers a bit more with what you come to expect from Disney artwork). One reason why I brought this is that the inside has artwork that was originally on the 1990 VHS release of The Rescuers and seeing them again, brings back memories. The artwork features Bernard and Bianca riding with Evenrude on a leaf through the water with the rest of the main characters in the background and one of the two mice holding onto an umbrella in mid-air, trying not to get eaten by Medusa's two gators. The disc itself is the standard Blu-ray release, so you're not missing out by deciding to get this edition, which will have superb artwork on it to boot. The steelbook also comes with the standard slip cover with the original reverse artwork from the DVD release and lists the extras. The only thing is that the embossed letters do slightly show through into the inside, but it doesn't take your eye off the artwork too much. Overall this is a superb buy, if you're a fan of The rescuers, I defenately recommend it. :)

RAS - Rescue Aid Society!
5This is one of my fiancé's favourite Disney movies of all time, so as soon as I saw there was gonna be a steelbook release of it on Blu-ray as part of the ever amazing Disney Steelbook Collection, not only did I want to add it to my own large collection of them, but I wanted to both treat & surprise him with it too!
