Like a hood ornament
5Bit of a sleeper, this film, and I definitely feel it's never scored the appreciation it deserved. It's simply but really well made, thoroughly entertaining, with a good sense of humour and heaps of old-fashioned derring-do. Great, low-key fun. Disney's done a lovely job with the transfer. Visually, the film's not the sharpest, and doesn't have a recent high-tech CGi-based look, but it's clean, without flaws, with glowing colours when they're needed and no sign of image manipulation. The audio is solid and bright, and James Horner's great score soars. OK, there's a disappointment with the disc: for a 20th Anniversary release, you'd think Disney could have given us some interesting extras — certainly more than just a trailer in SD resolution that's really showing its age.. But at least they've served the film well, and I guess that's what matters most. Finally, Zavvi's done a great job with the steelbook. I have a bit of an issue with the rear artwork, which looks less like it was chosen and more like it was stuck there because ... well, because something had to be. I'd much rather they'd kept to the art deco look of the front cover ... but that said, the front art is a thing of real beauty. I'm very glad to have this in my library.

Great Movie
5I always liked this movie, a simple idea with a great out come. A good story of good verses evil, with a cool strap on rocket. Now i get to enjoy this movie when ever i please.

Classic Movie, Gorgeous Steelbook
5The Rocketeer is a classic adventure movie that will bring you back to your childhood with silver screen images of hotshot pilots, jetpacks, and Nazi zeppelins. This is one of the most gorgeous steelbooks I have ever seen, with a unique metallic, retro, almost art deco design which perfectly captures the spirit of the movie. This BD plays without difficulty in my region A-locked North American PS3.

Rocketeer Steelbook
5Steelbook arrived in excellent condtion, nice embossing, I love the use of the original poster art, absolutely gorgeous! I like it when it's not just the same as a previous video release.

Product/Service
4My first copy of The Rocketeer arrived completely mangled. The Steelbook was basically crushed. I contacted Zavvi and they assessed the damage and quickly sent out another copy which arrived today. I just want to praise the customer service team (they get a bad rap online) for how efficiently they dealt with my problem. Mistakes happen, that's life and they dealt with it admirably. As for the film - it's still as great now as it was when I saw it on first release at the cinema aged 11. It has pacing issues but it's born from the same B-movies and serials as Indiana Jones - if you like that retro sort of vibe, most recently seen in the directors last effort Captain America, then this is for you.

Beauty
5Wow, I collect a few SB's. This one is the first I reviewed. The design seemed to capture the essence of this film. So glad when it arrived it is a thing of beauty. Embossed as well. It has now made the shortlist of my favorite ever growing SB's. 10/10.

The Rocketeer
5The Rocketeer - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook is truly stunning. In a crowded field of many quality titles and cover designs, this stands alone. Instead of the generic photo that adorns many steelbooks the designers opted for the beauty of the art deco image. A wise decision as they have created something that is totally unique and unlikely to be surpassed.

A hallmark amongst steelbooks
5I really like the steelbook edition of The Rocketeer, as the powder coated finish, the embossed lettering and the cover art culminate to the best possible version of this film on any home video format. Zavvi really gave this title the attention to detail it deserves and the disc itself also has a reasonable HD upgrade to prior versions. Whilst the restoration isn't perfect, a lot of that has to do with the original print assets. If you were to purchase this film on Blu Ray, this is the only edition to get.

4I thought pretty much the Steelbook. The quality of the product is first. Lacked only audio or subtitles in Portuguese.

The Rocketeer - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook
4I hadn't seen The Rocketeer since its cinema release the early 90's and I was pleased how well the film still holds up. The special effects may be a little dated but it is still a great adventure film that the whole family cam enjoy. The steelbook itself is stunning and the retro artwork fits perfectly with the film.
