5I bought the The World At War: The Ultimate Restored Edition as a Christmas present for my mums' partner. He loves history and in particular, anything about the war. The DVD was nicely packaged and looked the part, which is what you want when it's intended as a present.

World War Wow
5Despite the terrible subject matter, this is a compelling series, which will probably never be surpassed. It truly reflects the staggering scale and effects of the Second World War, from all perspectives. Highly recommended.

Good value
5The restoration has worked well making the picture sharper and widescreen with the benefit of 5.1 sound. The packaging is attractive, and my only reservation is that the booklet that tells you the titles of the episodes on each disc is a bit light on content / insubstantial. Should be bought in quantity as Xmas presents for old and young alike.
