Skyrim!!

Absolutely fantastic. Skyrim is one of the most immersive game experiences you can get. With the ability to spawn infinite quests and a main storyline that is gripping and excting, you can drop hundreds of hours into this game without blinking. You can even choose to sightsee for an hour and pick the flowers on the way, or clear a dungeon of its loot, or go on an extended run through the main story without dropping a beat. Game of the Year contender for sure!!

Excellent game, detailed world and fun side quests. Hours and hours of game time that make it well worth the purchase!

Is it good? Why yes it is!

Started Skyrim a couple of days ago, put in a nice solid 12 hours (so been playing it a fair bit) and it's really good. It does a lot of things better than Oblivion (pretty much everything I don't mention) however it does a lot of things worse. The UI for Skyrim (PC anyway) is atrocious, it was clearly made with consoles in hand as it's clunky and takes forever to use. The level up system/skill selection is also crap. It takes out a major component in RPG games where you select the skills etc that you will focus on at the start of the game. Skyrim has gotten rid of this completely and now you can just be whatever you want, whenever you want. IMO this makes it way to easy, RPGs are about your decisions effecting the world around you; character creation is a decision and it's pretty annoying it's been taken away from you. Apart from those two things Skyrim is pretty top stuff and while they are annoying (and clearly cater for console players and people who haven't had RPG experience) on a whole it's an amazing game and well worth the buy.

Fantastic graphics and game play. My first foray into the Elder Scrolls series and very impressed. Have been used to Fallout 3/Fallout New Vegas so similarities are obvious, differences are refreshing. Does slow down a lot on some scenes, but restarting has always cleared the problem.

Never ending fun

This game just has it all. I don't think I have ever played that is amazing on so many levels. There are so many different possible ways to play this game. You can be a warrior, magician or a thief. Or a bit of all of it. You can pretty much do anything you like! It's up to you whether you just want to do the main quest or discover Skyrim's whole potential by exploring the huge world and fulfilling the incredible amount of side quests. Just buy it and find out for yourself!

SKyrim - pushing the limits

Skyrim is fun. buy it. the game is better than Oblivion, the world is detailed and draws you in. the combat, inventory and skill management are streamlined and make for better game play. on the other hand the engine is show its age, compared with say The Witcher 2's graphics or Just Cause 2 for its massive open world the Skyrim/fallout 3 engine is looking really rough round the edges. and sometimes this is distracting because, when a view is pretty you know it could of been stunning had it used current gen tech. especially on PC. combat, despite and overhaul, still feels clunky, sword play lacks finesse or tactics that one associates with being a kick arse swords person. the beginning of the game didn't grab me and draw me in as much as Oblivion or Fallout, I spent the first hour feeling a little lost. This a side, the game is a good verging on great game. plenty of adventure and silly fun to be had. you'll easily loose 100 hours into this beast.

Brilliant

Another incredible, epic installment of The Elder Scrolls. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is utterly beautiful to look at and if you find yourself in the right spots some of the views are unbelievable. You get so much value for money from this title, forget about hours of gameplay you can play solidly for days and still not complete every side quest or uncover every location. A gripping storyline, hundreds of quests, beautiful graphics. A brilliant game.

Game of the year

5

Unlike other games competing for game of the year it will take you longer than a day to finish and the replay value is much higher, with personalised characters and skills it will be as different as you want it every time you start a new game. (with the exception of the main story of course). First or third person free roaming action so you can go where you want when you want. Make armour, clothes and weapons with scrap found while looting, or cook food to have more effect at healing, even make magic potions/poisons to heal or assist in battle. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim deserves game of the year just for the effort Bethesda put into making this game.
