KoA is an action RPG featuring a new way to spend talents(you can mix classes) and using a fluid combat style. It has a good looking and cartoonist art style without an outstanding plot. At the hard difficulty it gives a good challenge. The world is big and full of quests to complete, within a semi-open worldmap exploration. There are plenty of amour sets and weapons and a good variety of monsters. If you love the pure RPG style you may remain a little disappointed, but if you are searching for a casual-oriented good game to spend a lot of hours then it is the right game.

Very big and lots of fun! :D

Kingdoms of amalur: reckoning is in my opinion one of the best games to come out this year. It has a massive world with tons of exploration, lots of quests, factions, things to do, but not quite in the Skyrim sense of an open infinite world. The areas are actually closed much like areas in games like WoW or Fable, but there are A LOT of areas. The combat is fluent, action oriented, and lots of fun, and is the main part about the game. if your looking for a light, fun title to kill lots of time with, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is the game for you.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - great RPG!

After playing this game for about 40 hours, and reading tons of reviews about it, I can only say that this game has been given the treatment of being "Second to Skyrim" way too many times, and I believe it got lower review scores for that reason alone. Still, it gets great scores, but I can't help thinking that if this was released before Skyrim, it would have gotten a better reception. Don't get me wrong, Skyrim is an excellent game, but each one has their strengths and weaknesses. It's more Fable than Skyrim to me. Kingdoms of Amalur is a great game on its own, with simply brilliant game play, great graphics (if you like World-Of-Warcraft-style graphics), a huge world to explore and tonne of quests to do. Sure, the story could have been better and the talking animations' lip sync aren't the best, but for me, these are minor quirks in an overall excellent game. Between building your character, collecting loot, crafting new weapons and potions, and completing the main story, you will spend a lot of time in Kingdoms of Amalur's world, and after you finish the main quest, you are introduced to Factions, lorestone-finding, and lots of other activities to keep you interested for an even longer timespan. So, simply put, if you want a great RPG experience that swings more towards Fable than Skyrim, this your best option right now.
