I'm a big F1 fan and really liked the F1 2010 release last year, although it seemed a little sparse. I expected the new tracks in F1 2011 and the addition of KERS and DRS, I even expected that the graphics would be better in F1 2011 and I wasn't disappointed! Codemasters have taken this game to the next level. The gameplay, the realism, the new features (the co-op season and split screen multi player are a few of my favourites). The graphics and the motion of these amazing machines is all incredible. In my opinion - Codemasters have cracked it!Report this review
Having purchased and played F1 2010 I was wondering if I needed this game, especially as it is released so late in the F1 season! (Why?) The game seems faster and smoother overall than the previous outing. Much of the game remains the same but improved. There are a number of 'assists' as before making it accessible and challenging to both beginners and F1 Fanatics alike. The inclusion of this seasons DRS and KERS gives you some extra tools/toys that weren't available before, although those unfamiliar with F1 may find that there is a lack of clear information as to when, or indeed, how to best use these new features. The career lets you play through a season or 5 as an F1 driver, starting from the bottom (if you like) and making your way to the top teams. There are a host of online options, and now you can even play with a friend in split screen mode. Another new option is the Co-op career, where you and a friend can be team mates rather than playing through the seasons alone. (I'm not sure if this is available offline, I haven't played this mode yet) Although the game is mostly improved it seems to have been rushed to release, with a number of bugs existing in the initial release. Some of these have made online multiplayer uncompetitive as certain bugs have been exploited. Though these problems may be solved in a month or so by the release of a Patch it seems that the developers have not learned their lesson from F1 2010. Overall the racing experience is improved; graphically it is smooth but involved. If you bought the first one and are an F1 Fan you would have already bought this, if you are a casual racer and missed out first time, it is worth picking this up. If you are undecided, wait for a month and hopefully the problems will be fixed. 4/5 Stars (Xbox)Report this review
F1 2011 is the sequel to the highly popular F1 2010 and promises to be a huge step forward for the franchise. With the promise of a better racing experience, graphics, online play and a more in-depth career mode F1 2011 is shaping up to be one of the must own games of 2011.Report this review
