Resident Evil 6

I've been playing Resident Evil 6 for a few days now, unfortunately I feel Capcom and the games developers have failed to learn any lessons from their previous games. I'm a big fan of the series and feel kind of let down by the latest release. The problems start with the trivial rookie errors; for a start you are bogged down by tedious requests to "press A" "press START" for no reason! Constantly having to accept a "save successful" message, yet you can't actually save the game at any point you like. The chapters are far too long, it takes over an hour per chapter! You can't actually pause the game at all! The old market system of purchasing your weapons, storing them and deciding which you'd like to use is gone, so you are bullied into using all the weapons. And your struggle to have the space to store even ammo for these weapons. The RE5 store/safe worked much better; you also have no choice on upgrading weapons or outfits. The story lines are much the same and pretty monotonous, it's also annoying and uninformative. The skill system is far too limited and very vague. On a plus side the game looks great. The game play mechanic is much smoother, and the AI system much smarter. It's a shame Capcom seem to have removed all that was good about RE4 and RE5, and just hoped bigger would be better. The fact is that it could and should have been better!

I have all the previous Resident Evil games, and hesitated a bit about buying Resident Evil 6: Steelbook as I'd read some negative reviews, but I love it! I haven't stopped playing since it arrived, recommended.

Resident Evil 6 is a very well put together game with its 3 story lines following the most popular characters from the earlier games. Although i am yet to compete RE6 I have settled into the story really well and this game never fails to make me jump at certain parts, so it still holds onto the true aspect of the Resident Evil franchise. I highly recomend this game to anyone who likes a good shoot-em-up-zombie-killer-thriller of a game!

Resident Evil 6 brings together some old characters with new concepts and gaming styles. It is very well designed with little finishing touches that made me smile. The title system and customised dog tags would be particularly good for those gamers who like to play online and multiplayer, plus the skill point system helps to give you a challenge or a break when appropriate. With a classic like Resident Evil you need to find the unique balance between old mechanics everyone's finally gotten used to and new maps, weapons, and action. Yes it can get very 'trigger happy cut scene' at times, however it's nice to feel involved, especially to keep you on your toes like this action horror/survival game should. All in all this new addition to the family mixes things up and sometimes makes you feel you've landed a head shot, whilst the rest of the time sees you scrambling on the floor wrestling for your life. My tip for anyone wondering whether to play is this: if you're one of these edge of your seat gamers that likes playing soldier and survivor, give it a go!

Good story line with great graphics and video play. Controls let me down a little as it feels sluggish at some points (I.E fighting bosses). Overall a great game.

I'm a massive fan of the Resident Evil games and have been since the first Resident Evil. I thought judging by the fantastic reviews of 4 and 5... could 6 live up to them? And boy has it! The interlinking campaigns of Leon Chris Jake and Ayda where a real addition to the games overall storyline, you can play through them again and again only to find out more information that you might have missed the first time round. I really enjoyed all the campaigns and am now shooting my way through more zombies and javo in the mercenaries mode. The thing I like about Resident Evil and Capcom is that they take their time and bring out an awesome game like this and the previous ones. I say now bring on the hordes again in Resident Evil 7.

Excellent

Resident Evil 6 is brilliant, a vast improvement over the horrible controls of number 5. Gameplay is excellent and the graphics are amazing! Co-op is brilliant although it can be clumsy sometimes: if you get too close to each other you can end up knocking each other over very easily. All in all full marks!
