Bit of a slow delivery but probably due to Xmas. Great game, not as buggy as expected from reading reviews. Well worth a purchase.

Now that the 4th patch 6.5gb has rolled out his game is much more playable, frame rate and bugs mostly sorted out and it was the poor frame rate that ruined it in the first place. Graphics are awesome and it's just more of the same of all the other games in the franchise. Buy it now that it's been fixed!

Amazing game!

I just wanted to pop a review in here in the hope that it will persuade someone to give it a try despite the overwhelming response it has been getting due to bugs etc. I am absolutely loving this game on PS4 and have not been deterred by the occasional frame rate dip that I have encountered. This game takes me back to the days of AC2. A great sense of atmosphere and a beautifully realised Paris to play in. The gameplay is so much fun... Combat is challenging but satisfying and the desire to clear the map of its numerous challenges, collectables and viewpoints is hugely addictive. If you have any interest in this game, give it a go!

Great game

The game is a lot of fun. Graphics are great. There are some glitches but nothing to bother me and nothing that you don't find in all the other next gen games around at the minute. Very enjoyable and can play for hours upon hours, I haven't played a game I can't put down for a long time.

Assassin's Creed Unity sees the franchise return to its original form of land based high detailed city exploration. Having been a huge fan of the entire Assassin's library i was super excited for Unity and for the most part i was not disappointed, Fans of the series probably know you're not going to get a great story and that it is more of a world to explore and complete side missions and achieve those all important viewpoint synchronisations. Unity does not fail to give a huge well realised Paris that vastly changes through the course of the game mirroring the beautifully dark era of the French Revolution giving moments where the player must just pause and take in the stunning visuals of Paris and its rooftops. The parkour mechanics are also vastly improved, now there is no clumsy ledge by ledge descent now with one tough of a button, Arno (the protagonist) will fluidly slide and shimmy his way down a building with ease. i could not recommend this game more however i am only giving this game 4 out of the 5 stars as the game is buggy. For the most part my play through was unhindered but when i reached areas with dense population of NPC'S (non playable characters) the game began to chug with a noticeable drop in frame rate. Not something one would expect from a highly polished fluid next generation console game.

Back to basics.

If you like the original assassins Creed and the second one and want more of the same this if for you. There's really nothing that adds to the existing formula and is a backwards step from black flag which actually added to the formula and produced a forwards step. Unity is very pretty and the art team did a impressive job in recreating Paris. The main character is one in a long line of the standard video game protagonists just snarky and quite frankly a bit of a fool. The games promise of improved free flow movement are patialy delivered while the addition of a downwards movement is better but it still doesn't alive the major flaws in the system being you can't always be sure of where you are going to end up. The touted much hardy and different combat is basically just you get killed quicker and there harder to kill the basic system remains. However the options in combat have been reduce somewhat from what's been available before yet again small blades are missing from the game and for the first time in a while the hidden blades have been removed as a combat option ( there's one there for assasinations of course) the riddles in the game that take a whole side mission are overly obtuse and frankly to difficult for the normal player those with only decent knowledge of Paris and the very logical minds out there will have a decent chance of completing all of them. The side missions are plenty full but completely unrewarding. The map is cluttered with collectibles from the get go and many are locked unless a player downloads and plays through the unity star phone and tablet companion app and others are completely Impossible to open as they rely on a system that is currently broken for many people ( initiates a game tracking website that is linked to uplay). Now this game has done away with competitive multiplayer which has been something of a series favourite for many players and intoroduced a coop missions, now the system when it works well is pretty decent you and some friended go aroun Paris and generaly stick it to the Templars. But there's still somyhing lacking from its cool but it's just like the rest of the game repetitive, clunky and mostly forgettable. Over all if the old assasin creed games are your thing and your just I hi g for more this is right up your ally but anyone who is wondering if this is the assassins creed game that will reinvigorate the series then the answer is no.
