Most of this film made me jump, its very creepy but brilliant. They manage to make the simplest of things, like an open door, scary. The build up means you now when a scare is coming but it still chills you.

Excellent sequel..why is it that horror movies with little kids in it are that more scary? Do not watch on it your your own with the lights off!

Seriously, if you get scared by over-the-top gory torture-porn based on crazy ax murderers chasing after teenage prom queens/kings, then this movie isn't for you. On the other hand, if you have an active imagination and can actually follow and enjoy psychological thrillers then this is your kind of movie. This movie is a perfect example of what true horror should be. The first was brilliant, and I was quite skeptical about them making a "sequel", but I'll tell you I was not disappointed! I was really surprised at how well-done the movie was, how intricately-woven it was with the first, and how truly scary it ended up being. A true scary movie is made when the audience isn't scared of what is shown on screen, but they end up actually scaring themselves. The movie isn't gory, isn't fantastical, and isn't looking to "shock" the audience with over-the-top violence to produce the scares. No, it focuses on allowing the audience to conjure up their own personal villain, set in a very personal place. The audience goes home to homes very similar to the one shown, making the movie stick for a very long time. The story was brilliantly executed, and the acting was well enough to make it believable. So, if you have an attention span longer than a goldfish, an active and vivid imagination, and a love of truly scary movies, I couldn't recommend this movie more.
