It is no exaggeration when i mutter that this is a collection of 'pay the bills' performances, silly overblown story and dull action set-pieces. Anyone excited by the prospect of high calibre thespians such as Willis, Freeman and Malkovich going head to toe will probably be sorely dissapointed. The story is like any other 'retired' secret agent caper but with hardly any fresh ideas. Dont get me wrong i like a fun film and this has rare moments of this, but there has to be some form of effort going into the jolly expedition. this has almost zero effort. Willis is as bad as i have ever seen him and his supporting cast give what is proably thier worst performances. Hopefully thier last. Willis is given little to do considering he is the spearhead of the plot and he fails in the comedy department especially as his female co-star is given some strange and un-funny one-liners. you never get any real perspective of thier relationship due to the lack of chemistry. An annoying, trying to be hip and cool soundtrack/score is apparent throughout and apart from some funny moments involving Mirren and Malkovich, this is an action-comedy to avoid. I would reccomend Grosse Pointe Blank instead.Report this review
