Captain Marvel Statues & Figures

Take your collection to the far corners of the Kree Empire with Zavvi UK’s wide range of Captain Marvel statues and figures. Celebrating the legacy of this cosmic-powered superhero, these officially licensed products depict the character as she appeared in the source material and subsequent adaptations.

The Original Avenger

On the pages of the comics, the original Captain Marvel is a member of the alien Kree called Mar-Vell. Told to monitor the activities of humanity, who are advancing at a steady pace, he assumes the identity of the scientist Walter Lawson and lives on Earth. His growing affection for those whom he is ordered to distrust causes friction with his people, and this results in the character being declared a traitor, the outcome of such a declaration being death by firing squad.

Eventually, he meets Carol Danvers, an officer of the United States Air Force. She takes an interest in him, and this culminates in her being caught in the explosion of a Kree device, which blends their DNA. Imbued with power, she assumes the mantle of Ms. Marvel; however, she later abandons this persona to become the new Captain Marvel, her predecessor having perished while saving the home world of the Kree, Hala.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), there is a slight change to the origins of the moniker, which is initially conceived by Danvers (played by Brie Larson), not Mar-Vell (Annette Bening). Suffering from amnesia, the former Air Force pilot lives under the name of Vers and serves the Kree as a member of Starforce. This pits her against a race of green-skinned aliens known as the Skrulls, who possess the ability to shapeshift. Though the Supreme Intelligence (Bening) — the ruler of the Kree — says that the Skrulls are enemies, the truth behind their motives is not as overt as they would have Vers believe, and after she finds herself captured by Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), everything starts to become clear.
