More Than A Stormtrooper

Finn, formerly known as FN-2187 (‘Eight-Seven’), first appeared in the 2015 movie Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. Played by Jon Boyega, the character began his journey as a stormtrooper in service to the First Order. However, his path would quickly change.

Witnessing the cruelty of those he pledged allegiance to, Finn defected from the First Order. He freed the Resistance pilot Poe Dameron and adopted his new name, inspired by his stormtrooper designation.

Landing on the planet Jakku, Finn met a scavenger by the name of Rey. Together, they set out to deliver critical information to the Resistance, which would allow them to destroy Starkiller Base, a superweapon capable of wiping out whole civilisations.

During the attack on the base, Finn faced off with the powerful Force user Kylo Ren, suffering grave injuries. However, he would survive his wounds, rescued by Rey and Chewbacca.

Over the course of the sequel trilogy (which includes The Last Jedi and The Rise Of Skywalker), Finn would become a crucial member of the Resistance. After being promoted to general, he would lead the ground forces in the pivotal Battle of Exegol, helping to save the galaxy.
