British Brilliance

This set from Screenbound Pictures contains three almost lost British films. The first, Gunpowder, is a very low budget 1980's spoof of the buddy cop movies of the time (Beverly Hills Cop, 48 Hours) and James Bond style action movie with a megalomaniac trying to take over the world. The funniest thing is was made in Macclesfield. It is the second tho last film (at the moment) made by seventies horror director NOrman J. Warren. Some inventive work by production Designer Hayden Pearce (who has a cameo) considering the budget. A couple of decent car chases from the "nd Unit, directed by the writer. The second film, Girl In The Headlines, is a great thriller and is a who's who of 50's and sixties British faces as is The Woman In Question. All have decent picture quality, although there is some grain to Gunpowder. It looks like it may been transferred from a print that has seen some action. However it was good to see in any form after years of trying to get hold of it. Well done Screenbound. It was worth it. Decent price.
