In finding out the fate of the girl, Rome runs across a variety of shady characters, including a Mafia chieftan and a beautiful alcoholic, Kit Forrest (Raquel Welch) who instantly becomes the first suspect. The film takes a sharp twist when Rome is accused of murder himself!
