Bought Tales of Graces F as soon as it was released, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Tales of 1st of the series I've played

5

As implied this is the first of the series I've played. Not hard to believe since we didn't get most of them, then PS3 never got Vesperia. Do they not want to make money? Regardless I bought the special edition speculatively and I'm not disappointed, in fact it has bumped all my backlog down the list. The Anime aspect was never really advertised. If so it would attract Anime fans along with ni no kuni (released Jan). The prologue is long (5+ hours gametime) but serves better to endear you to the characters as well as build the dynamic there of something that lacks in FF for me. Also the skits and cut scenes only add to this. Tales of Xillia is already on my radar.

Excellent

I've been playing the tales series for a while now and this title is quite fun as well. The battle system is different and quite enjoyable to be honest. The story is alright, sort of standard fare for tales games and the characters don't get too grating or annoying. You can tell the original (not f) was made for the Wii with the limited traveling and the map being snow, desert, regular (if you've played tales you'll get what I mean). Not to mention the characters are low poly but the textures are pretty in HD. I just completed a play-through of the game and can honestly say I've enjoyed it. It's taken a fair bit of time and I'll probably go back to try and 100% complete it when I've got the time. I'd definitely recommend it to any fan of JRPGs and tell those who like RPGs in general (or at least decent battle systems) a go.

the game i have been waiting for all year

Having only played Tales of Vesperia I can't comment too heavily on how this title compares to the rest of the series. However I am thoroughly enjoying Tales of Graces F, the combat system is great once you get used to it and it just has such a good atmosphere. Judging from some of the similarities I have noticed in Vesperia I think it is safe to say that it has features that Tales fans are probably anticipating but I feel that's what makes the games different. As for the DVD and CD I got with the game. I haven't used them yet but I think they're nice to have bearing in mind that the price I paid was no different to regular game.

Very Good JRPG

4

Tales of Graces F is an excellent story with a good battle system with the addition of many side quests giving a very nice traditional JRPG. Although the voice acting could be better and yet somewhat annoying at times so you can tell it was budgeted. Would be nice if they included a Japanese voice track as well to add to its authenticity as this is a JRPG after all. The sound for me is as important as the game play as it adds to the atmosphere, if it annoys me then it will reduce my enjoyment hence the -1 star.

Great J-RPG to have in your collection

Tales of Graces F (Special Edition) is a JRPG style came more than two years ago in Japan, and came only with us for a few days. Great game in my opinion, that everything must have a JRPG, such as the exploration of places looking for crates and useful in battle or to merge them together, sub-quests that prolonging the longevity of the title already high, good cast of characters dressed with movies and characters drawn in anime style (flagship of tales), but above all a great battle system, the core of the game play, which allows you to have clashes frenetic but not without tactics, although can sometimes be confusing. The faults that I have found in graphics (which could still be improved as the game is a port of the Wii and effects pop-up characters and monsters that can not stand), story not just excellent (especially the first few hours may discourage to continue the game) and excessive back-tracking (which for me is not a big drawback in my opinion). In theory I would give it 4 out of 5 stars, but since they sell the game in a special edition for the same price of normal (containing a well-made artwork, DVD containing behind the scenes, a soundtrack and a few DLC's to download) 5 stars deserves them all. In other words: those who like JRPGs purchase is required, for others it may be a great game in a world now dominated by FPS (someone said COD or Battlefield?) And football.

Amazing

The Tales games are one of my favourite series, and now it's back with Tales of Graces F which I have to say is the best in the series for me. It features great characters and story with a new title system which is a lot of fun to master. This game truly is one of the best games of 2012.

A decent action JRPG

5

These are few and far between as of the past few years, Tales of Graces F (Special Edition) makes nice use of the advances in technology and the style of modern JRPG games. The music and visuals are nothing to complain about, and the localized dubs are pretty good. The characters and story are fairly standard but its entertaining enough, the real strength of this title is in the battle system (which is good since it is probably what will take up most of the play time) The battle system whilst a little difficult to get to grips with is dynamic and interesting.

Tales...

5

The second tales game for this gaming generation, following the simply brilliant Tales of Vesperia, this time on the PS3. The game follows a traditional RPG model as any fan of the franchise will know, with a really well written storyline and engrossing storyline. This game is a must have for any PS3 owner who enjoys a good RPG especially since the PS3 is severely lacking good RPG's of this sort. Since Tales of Vesperia is easily one of the Top 3 RPG's of this gen (and one of the best ever in my opinion) lets compare it to that. Gameplay: there have been various improvements to the actual gameplay it feels much more fluid and the spellcaster characters are definetly more accessible in comparison to previous Tales games. Overall this game has one of the BEST rpg gameplays ever made its action packed with all the goodies of RPG's e.g. lvling exp tons of skills and abilities with various manors in which to play each character. Sound is just great in this and the music is just really well done. The voice acting is superb as can be expected from a Tales game, they seem to produce voice actors that suit characters and don't make you want to mute the screen or wish for a Japanese version. Replayability... there are few games these games that offer a new game + system and crafting systems as good as this games. When you complete the game and decide to start over depending on how well you did you get points to spend on bonuses for you new game, these range from keeping your levels or gold or even items. Overall this game is brilliant especially if you enjoy a good RPG. I don't think its as good as Tales of Vesperia but this isn't down to the gaming side its more down to the Story side of it. I just prefer Vesperia's story. This is not a negative for Gaces since its going to be a while until an RPG as crazy as that comes out (Tales of Xillia 2013).

Fantastic!

Tales of Graces F is every bit as good as Tales of Vesperia, which is no doubt what you've come to expect from the Tales... series. I'd even go so far as to say it was much better than Tales of Vesperia; and I really loved that game. It's thoroughly entertaining, and the humour between the characters is top-notch. One such quote never fails to make me laugh, between Pascal and Sophie: Sophie: Pascal, what's an airhead? Pascal: Someone who is so smart, they can control air with their minds! A phenomenal game and must have for lovers of the Tales of... games!
