Not great, but still fun

Sim City: Limited Edition has not as much control as previous Sim City games, and the tiny map sizes make this feel more like "Sim Town". The online play is good but not as interactive as a modern game should be.

High Estimations and Low Deliverance

Sim City: Limited Edition is the 5th game in the series and the estimations were high. Fans waited a long time for this game, and the promising features of the game were quite interesting and encouraging. Sadly, this promising game is like a sword with two edges. It looks gorgeous, and the multi-player mode where you can build your city in a region with other players' cities was quite interesting. In these areas, the cities are influencing each other. The Sims are seldom going to the same workplace again, and they have got no fixed home. They leave the house for the nearest open work place and leave the work place for the nearest open home. This system also works for nearly everything in the game. The fire workers, the police, the garbage and lots of other things. So if you get two fires in the city, it can be that all firetrucks are going for the fire of a two family home, but then a skyscraper burns down to ashes. Another huge negative point are the small areas to build. A city is so restricted. Overall, Sim City is a quite nice and attractive game, but with a lots of flaws and false promises.

This "game" is a joke

I've aways been a fan of Sim City franchise, but with Sim City: Limited Edition, after 2 or 3 hours of play, you start to notice strange things - services acting completely randomly, firemen making circles, shops not having customers etc. Nothing is simulated - the sims don't own their house, they go to 'the nearest job' then to 'the nearest shop' then to 'the nearest house'. In this Sim City, the cities that you can build are really small. Once you've started to have more than 15K citizens, the main access to your neighbour is blocked and will start to block your entire city. Nothing works. I strongly advise you to stay away from this. The only good point of this game is that the graphics (even if they are poorly optimised) are wonderful, but that's not what you're looking for when buying Sim City.

Fun Game for Sims Fans

I bought this for my older son as he has played it on his DS and really wanted it for his PC for better gameplay. After an easy install and use of my Origin account he has played this game all evening and throroughly enjoyed it. A great addition for any Sims collectors!

It's good now honest!

It's no secret this game was shocking on release with constant server problems but a lot of that has been fixed now and I have to say this game is amazing it's so fun to play friends and screw their city by building polluting factories down wind of their cities, after multiple cities is does get repetitive but with city specialization it doesn't lose it's charm too quick. Really good game.

Great price

Sim City: Limited Edition is a modern take of the classic game. I would not be surprised if many city council officers used it to predict future supply and infrastructural needs... hobby for a job? That sounds good.

Sim City : Limited Edition

Sim City is an excellent game which has a lot to live up to. The only negative I have is that unlike previous Sim City games, this one requires a 'persistent connection to the internet'. Also, you are relying on connection to one of EA's servers to play. If you are playing with friends, all of you will have to play on the same server.

SimCity

Sim City: Limited Edition is not as good as previous Sims games. In fact it is downright boring. Also I do not like the fact that you have to put in a code and that code only works once. What happens if my computer breaks? I will have to buy the game again. Also I can't take it to a mates house to play. You have to be online to play, which is not always convenient. I'm one very unhappy customer.

Sim City: Limited Edition

Sim City: Limited Edition is great. The graphics are a massive step up from the previous games and bringing the camera down to street level can make the city a little bit more real. You can also see most of what is wrong with the city just by looking at the houses, as garbage will stack up outside if it's not being collected, and you can see sims coughing when they are ill. The city specialisation is new and can make the game interesting especially when you start trying to do more than one at a time. Also the disasters are quite fun ranging from the normal earthquake to the not so normal giant lizard attack. The online only DRM hasn't been an issue. The servers I play on have been stable and are constantly being updated with bug fixes. You can use the in game/origin shop to upgrade from the limited edition to the digital deluxe which adds the 3 Europe building sets. In short it's great all round.

Not designed for core single player target group

Like many have said before me, the main issue with SimCity's 2013 incarnation is the Online requirements which made the game practically unplayable at launch. Things have settled down now but the interaction between regions remains prone to error. The majority of players will most likely want to play SimCity in single player mode most of the time, controlling several cities and sharing resources across them. That is where the annoying instability of the server based calculation of inter-city interactions is hitting. There is not much fun in investing in a lot of power generation capacity in one city that can then not be used by other cities due to server limitations. However, without resorting to multi-city play, the maps are simply pathetically small. Overall, there are some good ideas here that suffer significantly from poor implementation but the bigger problem is that the core gameplay is just not as good as it should have been. Adding the significant price and the incredibly annoying online requirement you end up with a game you don't really need to own.
