Defiance is a great game that is heaps of fun. It may not have the best graphics, but in fact no MMO has the best of graphics. The best part of this one is it is pick up and play, with no monthly fee. It's easy to get into and has a nice (but not great) story to follow. The co-op maps are fun and the muli-player is pretty good, and the interaction between players out in the field works quite well, meaning you can help other people without being in a group and vice versa. Arkfalls are an interesting idea, it's really good to see a bunch of people working together.Report this review
I'm still getting into Defiance, but at this early stage I can't help feeling it's a missed opportunity. The MMORPG market for the PS3 is lacking so I had high hopes for the way this was promoted. Graphics are average, user interface is clunky and unintuitive and a lack of instructions mean you're learning basics on the fly. Bad points aside, I'm keeping going with it. The single player elements are progressing nicely and the occurrence of random online elements helps keep it fresh. Matchmaking is easy, and I've helped or been helped by others on more than one occasion. The map is expansive so offers plenty of scope for additional content to be released in line with the TV show's events. It's worth a go if you don't expect anything groundbreaking and you have patience.Report this review
Defiance is ok, as it provides a good inventory list which allows players to really take control of the game and multiplayer is probably the best thing about it. Whereas, the graphics are not as good as expected / portrayed through trailers, the guns and enemies do not have a lot of detail put in to them which kind of takes the fun out of it, other then that its an alright game, nothing special. there are better games to spend money on.Report this review
