Not super, but nice game

In my opionion it's not the best final fantasy...but it's a very nice episode....with great graphics and nice gameplay.... The only two problems are:....it's too easy and the character development is too linear.... but overall is a good product! The graphics and the sounds are superb!

It's the best thing you could ever see but with minor flaws

5

This game was excellent with minor flaws that I'm sure you could live with. Maybe they focused a little too much on the graphics but who could blame them? You have to top all Final fantasy graphics to make it all worthwhile. So there are minor flaws such as terms and maybe a lack of mini-games. I expected a little (that's a very small little) more out of this game considering that it took 4-5 years to make. Overall, it was all the best words you could think of, AWESOME, EXCELLENT, GREAT, MAGNIFICENT etc. So this game is all those words combined, it's a game that is just below the perfect mark.

Masterpiece? Hmm...

"Final Fantasy XII", for some a masterpiece and for others... Not so much. I am a bit sad to say that I belong to the "Not so much" side but don't get me wrong! I love the "Final Fantasy" series. Now here's why I give a 4 out of 5 to this game. The first "Final Fantasy" I played was IX and let me say, that game really afected the way I saw the world at the time, because the idea of living on that super amazing fantasy world filled with magic and wonder just blew my mind. When I got my hands on "Final Fantasy XII" it was kind of disappointing to play this game because it basically plays itself in an awkard way. Half the time I didn't even known what I was doing and just praying to get the battle over so I could catch on. But that's ok because the magnificent production values and the great original world, fleshed out by a compelling story, really kept me going. At the end you realise that is not quite what you were expecting, but still fun to play.

Something for the not-so-diehards

If you're looking for the authentic FF experience, then you will probably be slightly disappointed. Although lacking in a thrilling storyline, the story is narrative and takes you into the new world of Final Fantasy XIII, the same universe as upcoming Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantaasy Agito XIII. Despite the shortcomings of the story development, this FF offers a totally different experience onto the table. The battle system is revolutionary and it feels like everything is happening at real time. The battle system alone will make this game an unmissable for people who own a PS3 or 360.

Yet another masterpiece by SquareEnix

4

If you expect yet another Final Fantasy you are on the wrong road. This game is completely different from the old Final Fantasy, but still it's a great game. The combat system changed a lot, now the player can just use one character, while the other two are supportive and played by the CPU. The characters can change job by switching paradigms, in this way the game creates a new dimension in RPGs. The history is very well structured and has a lot of dramatic turn of events, which won't let the player bored. The only thing that I didn't liked about this game is that it's very linear until the very end, when it becomes just like any other Final Fantasy, with a lot of side quests and rare objects to gather. In the end, I must admit I really enjoyed this game, even though it's so linear the story is very nice. The Final Fantasy aficionado can be disappointed but in the end they will love this new masterpiece signed SquareEnix.

Best Final Fantasy game

5

This is the best Final Fantasy game i have played so far. I played all FF titles since FFVII on PS1 and this title is the best game of them all. It's true the gameplay is very linear compared to the free roaming titles in the FF series before this 1, but putting that aside and looking at all the other great features this game has to offer, like SuperB SFX's in a video game, unbelievable good physics, great music and involving story, it could have been a book, beautiful graphics, modeling so very fine tuned you don't get to see this quality in graphics often, a really cool combat system to just name a few things that are over the top. It's well worth claiming this game is a must have, and if you have enjoyed playing FF titles in the past but are in doubt because of some new kids on the block review, stop doubting as FFXIII delivers...

Greatest RPG on PS3

5

Final Fantasy XIII has been a magical journal and Square Enix has done a wonderful job. They've set new standards for the RPG genre and they will continue to do so for the Final Fantasy series. The game is graphically spectacular with cut scenes shown in HD this is easily one of the best looking games out there. Gameplay and story wise it starts off very slowly for the first few hours as the game teaches you how to use the games controls and features. There are not many areas to explore as the game is quite linear until the very end unlike previous Final Fantasy games, however fans of the series and RPG fans can easily overlook this to enjoy this truly fascinating game.

Awesome Game!!!

I have played quite a few of the older FF games, and even though XIII is very different, I loved almost everything about it. The battle system is great! It is so intense, challenging , and most importantly FUN:) And the production value of this game has totally exceeded my expectations. The graphics, music, story, characters, and overall scope are unlike any game I've ever played. Do yourself a favor and experience this game!

Very good game

This not disturbing the rule, has great graphics (next-gen requires), the story is found and we learn until the last minute. The dynamism of fighting makes them enjoyed and strategies to be adopted by the different roles available. The linearity which several people plaignées only unnecessary (the X was exactly like) because it happened on Pulse is pleasantly surprised at the vasteté Sauvaget and the place. The gameplay is enjoyable with its bars ATB that allow us to make different combos. The music is well suited to acts chosen dynamically during the fighting and "dark" bumps cons. By cons that really disappointed me in this new opus is the severe lack of side quests and thus affects his life (finished in 46h15), I expected more because the previous titles given to us good life. The thing that can be confusing but also that when the leader dies, it's game over. I will also preferred that the other characters do not base the actions during the fighting, it shall have raised the level of dynamism. I found the ending confusing and how to upgrade weapons and equipment Draft. Invoking them special but fits well with the universe (magic + machine) even though, personally, those of older episodes were better.
