Christopher Nolan Planning Film About Father Of The Atomic Bomb

Director Christopher Nolan is reportedly planning his next movie, which will tell the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer and the development of the atomic bomb during WW11.

According to Deadline, Nolan is preparing for his next film which is about American theoretical physicist Oppenheimer, potentially starring Cillian Murphy, a regular collaborator with the director.

Nolan has of course explored the war previously with Dunkirk, which also starred Murphy.

Warner Bros. Pictures

It is early days for the project, but a screenplay is reportedly with several film studios who are in conversation with Nolan and his team.

Although Nolan doesn’t have a formal agreement with Warner Bros., they have worked with him on the majority of his movies to date, so it is interesting he is looking into alternatives.

This is probably a result of tension between the studio and Nolan, with the director being unhappy with their decision to release their 2021 movies on streaming service HBO Max as well as in cinemas.

Definitely one to keep an eye on.
