Everything Microsoft Revealed At The 2020 Xbox Games Showcase

Yesterday, in their Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft finally revealed to fans a look at some of the many exclusive games coming to their consoles, the Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

During the hour long showcase, the company focused entirely on which games are coming, announcing a total of 22 console launch exclusives, with ten world premieres being revealed.

It was also confirmed every game shown during the event will be coming to Xbox Game Pass, or free to play.

The event kick-started with a first look at campaign gameplay for the upcoming Halo Infinite, which is being described as the biggest and most ambitious Halo game yet.

Promising us bigger battles, epic vistas and better visual effects, the enormous ring is also several times larger than that of the last two Halo games combined.

When they say Infinite, they really mean it.

Charting the next chapter of Master Chief’s story, the campaign gameplay will run at 60 frames per second, utilising the full power of the Xbox Series X.

We then got a look at next-gen racing game Forza Motorsport, which is early in development, but has been confirmed to run at 60 frames per second and in 4K.

Coming to the Xbox Series X and PC, it will not be released on the current Xbox One.

From Rare came a beautiful new trailer for their unique upcoming game Everwild, which is inspired by the beauty and magic of the natural world.

Meanwhile zombie survival game State Of Decay 3 was announced as being in development, as was S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 which promises to be the most immersive world yet.

King of RPGs Obsidian revealed their next game Avowed which will be set in a fantasy world named Eora, whilst popular game studio Dontnod Entertainment, who brought us Life Is Strange, announced that the first chapter of their mystery thriller Tell Me Why will be released on 27th August.

And in amongst all that, we were also given a look at the next Outer Worlds DLC Peril On Gorgon, which will be released this September and will take players to the Gorgon Asteroid to investigate the mysterious origin of Adrena-Time.

But the announcements didn’t stop there, as new multiplayer game Tetris Effect: Connected was confirmed, as was upcoming Destiny 2 expansion Beyond Light which will arrive on Xbox Game Pass in September.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, As Dusk Falls, The Gunk and Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis were also teased.

We also got the reveal that legendary PC first-person shooter franchise CrossfireX will be coming to console, with a variety of multiplayer experiences and a cinematic campaign.

Perhaps the funnest trailer of them all was the one for Grounded, which sees players trying to figure out how to return back to being their normal life size – think Honey, I Shrunk The Kids if it was a game.

Xbox also delivered a look at the creepy upcoming game The Medium, whilst the trailer for Psychonauts 2 featured an original song sung by none other than Jack Black .

And of course, saving the best to last, Xbox announced Fable right at the end of the showcase, promising a new beginning for the popular franchise with a highly anticipated reboot.

Unable to fit all their announcements into the showcase, Xbox also revealed several games during a pre-show including Balan Wonderworld, the next game from Sonic The Hedgehog creator Yuji Naka.
