Jon Bernthal To Return As The Punisher In Daredevil: Born Again

The Punisher is finally returning to our screens.

It’s been confirmed that actor Jon Bernthal be reprising the role of Frank Castle, who he portrayed in two seasons of Netflix’s The Punisher and 12 episodes of hit show Daredevil, in the upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again.

Marvel Studios

Filming on the 18 episode series is set to start shooting in New York later this month, before premiering on the streaming service in spring 2024, The Hollywood Reporter has announced.

However it’s not all good news, as that report also got the scoop that Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, who played Karen Page and Foggy Nelson respectively in the shows, will not be appearing in the new series.

We don’t yet know whether these characters have been recast or if they won’t be making an appearance at all.

Marvel Studios

Bernthal will join Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, who have previously been announced to be reprising their roles of Daredevil and Kingpin respectively.

They’ve already been welcomed back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), via Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye.

Despite the success of the various Netflix series, Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige has never officially confirmed whether those shows are part of the MCU canon or exist outside of it.

We may finally get that question answered when the highly anticipated reboot and/or sequel arrives on our screens next year.
