Bruce Campbell Confirmed To Appear In Evil Dead Rise

It wouldn’t be an Evil Dead movie without Bruce Campbell and it’s been confirmed that he appears in the new film… well, kind of.

Director Lee Cronin has revealed that Evil Dead Rise will feature a cameo from Ash himself, although you will need to keep your eyes peeled, as the filmmaker has tried to make it as difficult to spot as possible.

He recently told Empire: “Bruce is hidden in the movie somewhere. Bruce has a small presence in the movie.

New Line Cinema

“The first person to figure it out and send me a tweet, I’ll give them 50 bucks.”

Yes, that’s right, Cronin is putting his money where his mouth is – so, if you do spot Campbell in the movie, which opens in UK cinemas on Friday 21st April, make sure to tag the director and let him know.

You could be – Googles dollar to pound exchange rate – £41.10 richer if you do.

Cronin added that the decision to make an Evil Dead movie without Ash at the centre was to help move it in a new direction, saying:

“It felt like in order to move the franchise somewhere new and to unlock the potential of the universe to tell more stories, it needed to break free [of Ash].”

Campbell made a cameo in the post-credits scene of the 2013 Evil Dead and recently led TV spin-off Ash Vs Evil Dead, which ran for three seasons.

Evil Dead Rise is released in UK cinemas on 21st April.
