She-Hulk: Everything We Know About The Marvel Series

You won’t like her when she’s angry.

Although, Marvel Studios will actually be hoping that you do, ahead of their ten episode first season of She-Hulk, which is set to debut on Disney+ in 2022.

The show will follow Jennifer Walters, the lawyer cousin of Bruce Banner, who shares his ability to transform into a giant green monster.

Before the show premieres in the new year, we’ve put together a quick guide to everything you need to know about She-Hulk so far.

What’s The Story Of She-Hulk?

Marvel Studios

Very little is known about the plot of She-Hulk so far, other than that it will be an origin story for Jennifer Walters.

Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige has also confirmed that the show will be a “legal comedy”, with the first footage (which premiered back at Disney+ Day in November 2021) backing this up.

We do know that She-Hulk will be battling two central villains in the season; the reintroduced Abomination (the villain from Edward Norton’s 2008 Incredible Hulk film) and Titania, one of Walters’ biggest foes in the comics.

Marvel Studios

We also know that the series will follow the comics and have Walters break the fourth wall, Deadpool-style, although presumably far more suitable for family viewing.

In the comics, which debuted in 1980, Jennifer Walters’ origin story comes shortly after meeting back up with Bruce Banner. A criminal lawyer in LA, she hadn’t seen her cousin since childhood – but the pair reconnect and are together when she’s wounded in a near fatal accident.

Bruce can only save her by giving her a blood transfusion, and as such, she becomes a Hulk herself.

Who’s In The She-Hulk Cast?

Marvel Studios

The series will have a mixture of new faces and familiar ones from the MCU. In the lead is Tatiana Maslany, formerly of the BBC’s Orphan Black, a show where she famously played 14 different characters – playing Jennifer and She-Hulk should be a walk in the park then for her.

She’s joined by Mark Ruffalo (as Bruce Banner and The Hulk of course), and another returning character in the form of Tim Roth’s Abomination.

Marvel Studios

It may have been 14 years since he was at the centre of an MCU narrative, but eagle-eyed viewers may have spotted him briefly pop up in Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings.

Also in the fold is The Good Place star Jameela Jamil, who will be appearing as Titania. We haven’t yet seen this character in action, but Jamil did post a picture with bright orange hair, which she claimed was a £20 wig, but comics fans recognised it resemmbled She-Hulk’s arch nemesis.

Is There A She-Hulk Trailer?

Yes. A short teaser premiered as part of Disney+ Day in November 2021. The high quality footage is still only available on the streaming service as part of their Marvel Day announcement – but you can still take a glimpse at the clip above.

When’s She-Hulk Out?

Marvel Comics

As with all of the MCU’s upcoming series, including Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight, no official release date has been announced – we just know that it’s coming in 2022.
