What Is 4K Ultra HD?

Sony

4K Ultra HD Blu-rays are the best format to watch all your favourite films and TV shows. Featuring stunning high-definition quality picture, they are an enhanced version of your standard format Blu-ray disc.

But keep in mind that 4K Blu-ray discs are not compatible with your regular Blu-ray player, and you will also require a 4K TV to experience these visuals.

However, they are compatible with a standard HDTV, which will automatically down-convert the 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) supported on the UHD Blu-ray disc to playable 1080p format.

If you own any of the following video game consoles, you already have an in-built 4K Blu-ray player: Xbox One X, Xbox One S, Xbox Series S, and Sony PlayStation 5.
